Yanbaru Jungle Trekking

waterfall in nature

Yanbaru jungle trekking connects you to nature through the five senses with the Japanese tradition of Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) in Yanbaru. Okinawa has a number of waterfalls, all with varying levels of access according to ability and the weather conditions. Follow a winding, shaded river on a managed path or along its shallow bed, finally arriving at the waterfall. Depending on which waterfall, we will be able to swim at the base.  Duration is normally 2-3 hours/

We will provide:

  • Felt-bottom boots, which provide a reliable grip on wet, slippery rocks
  • Life jacket (PFD) and lightweight rucksack – our guide can provide dry bags
  • Guide with first aid kit, tea, and local snacks

What you should bring:

  • Clothes that can get wet (optional if sticking to the path and staying dry)
  • Towel and change of clothes
  • Water
  • Camera
